Arvela R. Heider, PhD, founded Holark Systems in 1996. Holark Systems facilitates the development of new health care programs including grant funding, implementation, and evaluation. She has more than twenty years experience working with healthcare organizations in New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Delaware.  Dr. Heider received her doctorate from the University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy in 1984.  In addition to Holark Systems, she has been employed at Roswell Park Memorial Cancer Institute, the University at Buffalo, and Canisius College. Dr. Heider has presented national webinars/seminars on health care. She is currently an adjunct professor at Canisius College’s  Community & School Health, Health & Human Performance, and the Subject Matter Expert for the Western New York Beacon Community. This is one of President Obama's major initiatives to improve health care delivery.

 

Dr. Heider also co-authored the Framework for Change with Anne Moretti and Robert Meiss, President & CEO of Beechwood Continuing Care. Framework for Change, a publication describing the foundational model for the WNY Alliance for Person-Centered Care, was collaboratively developed by healthcare leaders cross eight counties in update New York. It helped shape the first community-wide initiative of its kind in the U.S. aimed at transforming the way nursing homes and senior care providers deliver care to elders.
